Slackware is a very cool distro that does 'exactly what it says on the tin' and nothing more. While this may infuriate mandrake or redhat users, it means that YOU get the power to decide what happens on your system, not some damn configuration tool. It also allows you to learn a lot about linux in a short time, because virtually nothing is hidden from you, so get out your copy of vi and start editing.

Not surprisingly, Slackware's homepage is [www.slackware.com] and the ftp tree is at [ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware]. Of course, you should all be using a [mirror] to download.
